Black History Month

As M is 7 years old, we are getting in to more meaningful historical events. To continue our beginning of looking in to Martin Luther King Jr in January, we found a few books and videos to begin to delve in to why there is a separate month to highlight African American accomplishments and contributions to society.

For March, we are researching diversity resources.

Inauguration Day

Taking the opportunity to learn about the process and the peaceful transition of power. We talked about being fair minded, that no leader is perfect . There are good and bad attributes to every person but the position deserves our respect and prayers.

I recorded a series of documentaries on past inauguration speeches

We also watched some informational presidential videos on YouTube:

Martin Luther King Jr

We are taking the rest of January to learn more about MLK, what he did, said and accomplished and what still needs to be done for true respect, dignity and equality. Because all men and women are made in the image of God.

This is also inaguratuon week and those two things have to be addressed in the current racial climate.
